Coffee & the Word
Lattes, open Bibles and slow morning conversation before class on the Geisel patio. First cup's on us.
Some of the deepest faith conversations happen over coffee, late night card games, and shared plates of food. Social Gatherings are the unhurried, come as you are spaces of Watch Altars, where the early church's habit of breaking bread together becomes real friendships on the UC San Diego campus.
In Scripture, food and friendship are never just background. Jesus was constantly at the table, with tax collectors, fishermen, doubters and friends. The first believers turned ordinary meals into holy moments of belonging. Our social gatherings carry that same heart: no performance, no pressure, just honest community where you can be fully known and still fully welcomed.
